Amanda Koster: Can You Give Her Five Minutes?

What is happening here? Fuji donated Polaroidesque cameras to SalaamGarage so that we could give photos back to the women rather than just take them. Sarah Henderson was photographing patients at the hospital. The woman in these pictures had a double fistula repaired at the Hamlin hospital and was getting physical therapy to learn to walk again. This woman had come in from her remote village, using a walker to aid her mangled feet. This proud woman hid her pain and posed for a photograph for Sarah (first asking to get her walker out of the shot).
