Thanks for going through this. I do this on a daily basis (shoot on 5D/7D with Zoom H4N audio). I love the steps and they seem to be exactly what I do as well, I am actually Pluraleyes-ing in the background as I type this :)

Just wanted to let you know the final step is super easy (getting rid of the original audio). In FCP, first trim both clips to be the same length (Hit &#039;B&#039; to use the blade tool). Then you can just pick up the zoom audio and drop it right on top of your old audio in the timeline. Select both the zoom audio and the original video by clicking on them holding the command key, and once they are both selected hit Command-L (link) to link them.

Ta Dah.

No need to worry about the original audio, as it is still there in your original clip which you can find back in your Browser.
